Born in China, 1932-2003
Yee Hong obtained his art education and graduated from Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan (1945); Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore (1950) and completed his BA in Fine Art from the Department of Fine Arts, Taipei, Taiwan (1961). He was one of the founding members of Modern Art Society (1963), contributed art reviews in Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore.
He has held a numerous solo exhibitions locally and overseas, such as Solo Exhibition, Sabah, Malaysia (1967, 1968, and 1971); Solo Exhibition (1975, 1981, and 1985); and Solo Porcelain Enamel Painting Exhibition (2001) and participated in various group exhibitions locally and Asia countries, such as 3rd National Art Exhibition, Taiwan (1956); Taiwan Art Exhibition, Taiwan (1957); Modern Art Exhibition, Malaysia (1965 and 1966); Modern Art Exhibition, Singapore (1974 – 1997); Singapore Art Society Annual Art Exhibition, (1986 – 1990); Singapore Contemporary Art Exhibition, Macao (1994); Porcelain Enamel Painting Exhibition (1996, 1998 and 1999).
He was credited with a 1st Prize for Oil Painting in the Overseas Chinese Students’ Open Art Competition, Taipei, Taiwan (1958).
His artworks are collected locally and internationally by private collectors.
