Born in Singapore, 1946
Simon discovered the style that best represented his artistic vision, his works convey the emotional elements of life and his bold use of black and gold is reflective of the duality or yin/yang of life.
Through the deceptively simple line of his strokes, Simon’s work conveys the deep connection and rhythms that flow through life and resonate within each of us.
“The strokes that he has created are simplistic yet profound as they are derived from the inner recesses of his feelings…”
Simon graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1967, and renowned first-generation Dr. Chen Wen Hsi as his first teacher for basics of painting.
He has held some solo exhibition and participated in group exhibitions locally as well as internationally in Abu Dhabi, Shanghai (China), Seoul and Paris.
Most of his works is done using white, black and gold as the main primary recurring colors on rice paper. His works revealed a sense of simplicity through the fluid strokes he created, yet profound as they are derived from the inner recesses of his feeling. Hence a reflection of the ebb and flow of life itself.
His artworks are collected by corporations and private collectors.
