Born in Singapore, 1963


Chin Kang graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore with a Diploma in Fine Arts and completed his MA in Arts & Education from University of Central England in Birmingham, UK in 1998.

He is currently a part-time Lecturer at many tertiary Art Institutions and University.  He has held six solo exhibitions: “Mix-Up” (2010); “Familiarizing the Unfamiliar”, USA (2003); “Changing Colour” (2002); “Still-Life”, (2000); “Mother & Child”, UOB Plaza (1999); and “And They Lived Happily Ever After” (1998).

He received Asian Artist Fellowship sponsored by Freeman Foundation for a residency at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, USA (2003 – 2004); Grand Prize in UOB Competition (1998) and First Prize in the Representational Category, UOB Competition (1997); Area Prize (1997) and Merit (1996 and 1995) in Singapore Urbanart Competition; the Jurors’ Choice in The Philip Morris Group of Companies Singapore/ASEAN Art Awards (1997 and 1996); Third Prize in Philippe Charriol Foundation Contemporary Arts Competition in Singapore (1995 and 1996).

His artworks are collected by many corporations and private collectors.
